Teresa Arêde (Viseu, 1991) is a visual artist and performer who lives and works between Viseu and Porto, and dedicates her practice to the fields of visual arts, sound, and performance. She holds a degree in Fine Arts – Multimedia from FBAUP and simultaneously pursued studies in classical singing at the Porto Music Conservatory. She further developed her musical training at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, where she also completed a Master’s degree in Print at the Royal College of Art. She is currently a PhD candidate in Fine Arts at FBAUP and a grant holder of FCT.
Her practice investigates the female voice as a space of critique and transformation, its visual expression, and its corporeality.
